The Student Council of the Department of Japanese Studies is a self-governing body composed of current students. It is dedicated to promoting the welfare of students within the department and takes charge of organizing both major and minor departmental events. Additionally, the council serves as the highest decision-making and executive body that represents the voices and interests of the students in the Department of Japanese Studies.
Activities
The Japanese Studies Student Council, as the self-governing body for students enrolled in the Japanese Studies program, oversees various events within the department through the participation of fellow students. The events organized by the Japanese Studies Student Council are as follows
-First semester: Freshman Orientation, Saram-Sarang Trip, Semester Kick-off Gathering,
Joint Welcome Party, Department Sports Day, Nokdu Festival, Daedong Festival
-Second semester: Club Retreat, Japanese Studies Night, Academic Festival, Alumni Sports Day,

Composition
Executive Board: Serves as representatives both within and outside the department, holding decision-making authority. Responsible for overall departmental oversight, including establishing the project schedule during their term.
General Affairs Board: Manages the budget required for all departmental projects. Handles accounting for this budget (including student association fees) and maintains records of student council meetings.
Planning Department: Responsible for planning all departmental projects. It can be considered the brain of the Japanese Studies Department, generating new initiatives.
Sports Department: Participates in events both within and outside the department, specifically handling sports-related events to foster camaraderie among students.
Public Relations Department: Responsible for informing the student body about departmental activities, external events, and academic schedules. Due to its nature, members are often expected to have strong writing skills and an active personali.
